Don’t use clichés.

Don’t write about how you give 110 percent, keep your nose to the grindstone, or how a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. In terms of creativity, this is about as bad as it gets – these phrases have been used so many times by so many people that they had to invent a special name for them – clichés. You can always do better than a cliché.
